DRAWINGS

Frane Delalle was a master of drawing, using eather pencil, marker, chachoal or needl to make an amaizing works on paper, copper, brass or aluminium.

He had knowledge of a traditional techniques but he was also interested to improve or supstitute them wit his own inventions, frequently using industrial processes for his artwork.

Along his career we worked on variety of commisions for the public buildings, hotels, restaurants, museums and memorial centers etc.
Also, in the time without autocad renders, he made a hundreds of drawings for architectural projects.

THE DANUBE RIVER

Engraving, copper plates, size 3.5 x 1.6 meters, 1972. Drawing for final artwork was made with pen and ink on transparent film, negative was transfered on copper and finished by etching with acid.
It is placed inside the command center of Djerdap dam.

BATTLE FOR SMEDEREVO

The siage of serbian city of Smederevo 1459 by Otomans, is motif of this draving - marker, chachoal and guash on paper, size 7 x 2.2 meters, ≈ 1967, inside the administrative building of steel factory in Smederevo

ALUMINIUM PLATES

Wall decoration on the terrace of the Beogradjanka building - the first skyscraper in Belgrade, detail, surface approx. 80 m2.

His innovative techniques, for the resistant artworks an open space, was engraving on anodized aluminium plates, used in construction industry. Drawing was made in negative by removing protective color on surface.

ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS

His talent to present space and to make convincing perspective view of buildings or interior spaces, provided him with commisions from architects along his career.
Also he worked on his own proyects - mostly interior design for hotels, restaurants and private apartments - not presented, but list of these works can be found on page Archive.

WW2 MEMORIALS
AND REVOLUTION TIME

After the war most of the commisions were fot the state controled companies and museums meaning that themes were covering events from war or revolution as well as the ones related with new way of life in socialistic country.
Fortunately the state accepted variaty of styles of artworks, apart of a oficial socrealism that was never strong in former Yugoslavia.

Machine of Death - Ink on Paper, size 140 x 140 cm, ≈ 1970. Drawing for final artwork on copper plate, transfered later on film and processed by etching with acid.

Made for WW2 memorial complex in Jasenovac, Croatia. Destiny of the work is unknown.

THE FAIRS

From 1955 to 1985 he worked ocassionally for the international fairs, traveling to more the 80 countries and designing or making itself decoration panels, bilboards and instalations. These travels gave him insight of diferent cultures and fresh ideas for his works.
