ARTIST
Born in Trogir, in sunny Dalmatia, on March 1, 1929.
Creative on a daily basis for almost 60 years. His credo "Nulla dies sine linea" (in his case - not a single
day
without drawing) reflected his extraordinary energy and ceaseless wish to dedicate each and every moment of his
life to the most beloved thing – the art.
Raised in modest urban family proud of it’s origins and position in a small town where time seemed to stand still
and in which stories were told about medieval knights, Saracen siege, St. John’s hand, Napoleon’s army
arrival...
Someone said that "even cats in Delalle family know how to draw", meaning that skill and afinity for art spans
through several generations. That fact and very good amateur works by his father Vjekoslav, lead him to secondary
art school in Split and, afterwards, Applied Arts Academy in Zagreb.
He passed away in Belgrade on October 3, 2008.
While working on this site, I found myself astonished with quantity and variety of his artworks.
On the following pages I tried to choose and present most characteristic of his works. Most of them will
remain unpublished, but in one thing I am sure:
If a man who spends his life doing what he loves could be considered happy, than my father was a very,
very
happy
man.
